Upon graduating last year, African Studies alumnus Will Smith went out and single-handedly raised money to found a unique initiative, an academy in Monrovia, Liberia that drew young people into school through football.
Will is going to be in town and will be discussing the academy he founded. His presentation briefly places Monrovia Football Academy (MFA) within the broader context of sport for development and Liberia's political economy and goes on to look at the implications of MFA's experience for Liberia's development and the sport for development field more broadly.
